Welcome to Grow and Glow Clinic

Our Mission

Understanding Neurodevelopmental Differences

Every child is unique. Some children think, feel, and experience the world differently — they may have differences in attention, social communication, sensory processing, or emotional regulation.
At our clinic, we provide thorough, evidence-based assessments to help families understand whether these differences may be related to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Our aim is to offer clarity, compassion, and a clear plan for support.

Who We See

We assess children and young people who may be:

  • Finding it hard to focus, stay organised, or complete tasks

  • Showing high levels of energy or restlessness

  • Struggling with social understanding, friendships, or flexibility

  • Experiencing strong emotions or frequent meltdowns

  • Having sensory sensitivities (to sound, texture, light, etc.)

  • Showing repetitive interests, routines, or rigid behaviours

  • Finding school environments overwhelming

We welcome referrals from parents, schools, GPs, and other professionals.

Our assessments follow NICE guidelines (CG72, NG87, NG217) and are carried out by an experienced multidisciplinary team — including a Consultant Paediatrician / Neurodevelopmental Specialist, Clinical Psychologist, and Speech and Language Therapist.

Step 1: Initial Consultation

We begin with an in-depth discussion with parents or carers to gather developmental history, concerns, and background information.
We also review relevant school reports, questionnaires, and health records.

Step 2: Direct Child Assessment

Your child will be seen in a comfortable and supportive environment. Depending on their age and needs, this may include:

  • Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2)

  • Developmental and social communication interview (e.g., DISCO or ADI-R)

  • Cognitive or attention testing

  • Behavioural and emotional regulation screening

  • Observation of play, communication, and interaction

Step 3: School and Teacher Input

We liaise with schools to gather structured teacher reports on your child’s learning profile, social interaction, and behaviour across settings.

Step 4: Diagnostic Formulation & Feedback

After reviewing all assessment data, we meet with parents to discuss findings, explain whether criteria for ASD and/or ADHD are met, and outline tailored recommendations.
A comprehensive written report is provided, including practical strategies for home and school.

Our Assessment Principles

  • Child-centred: Every assessment is tailored to your child’s strengths, needs, and communication style.

  • Evidence-based: We use gold-standard diagnostic tools in line with NICE guidance.

  • Collaborative: We work closely with families, schools, and referrers to ensure support is consistent across environments.

  • Strength-focused: We help children and families recognise and build on their abilities — not just challenges.

After the Assessment

Receiving a diagnosis (or not receiving one) can be a big moment. We make sure every family leaves with:

  • A clear understanding of the assessment outcome

  • Practical recommendations for education, daily life, and emotional wellbeing

  • Guidance on next steps — such as IEP/EHCP applications, referrals to CAMHS or occupational therapy, and local support networks

We also offer follow-up reviews, parent consultation sessions, and school liaison meetings as needed.
